Ingenia, an engineering and research company, has signed a strategic agreement with Bioenerys, a Snam group company and market leader in the biomethane sector, to test Ingenia's technology on biomethane in a number of Bioenerys plants across Italy.
Ingenia Technology: Innovation and Sustainability
Ingenia Technology, developed in recent years, allows, on an experimental basis, upgrades to be carried out on existing plants, enabling the production of pure biomethane without CO₂ emissionsinto the atmosphere, as well as the construction of new plants.
The technology also guarantees:
- Increased biomethane production
- Improving the anaerobic digestion of biomass
- Reduced power consumption
- Elimination of odorous emissions from plants
A fundamental aspect of the technology is the inclusion of a phase for extracting ammoniacal nitrogen, which will be converted into sulfate and/or ammonium phosphate, usable as fertilizers.
Versatility and Scalability of Ingenia Technology
Ingenia Technology can treat a wide range of organic substances, such as:
- Waste from separate collection (e.g., FORSU)
- Civil or industrial sludge
- Agricultural by-products, such as livestock manure and poultry manure.
The scalability of the technology allows it to be applied to large plants, but also to small plants and micro-plants, thanks to the reduced size of the digesters.
Additional Benefits: Sustainability and Optimization
Ingenia Technology offers additional benefits:
- Facilitated disposal of digestate in agriculture
- Optimization for discharge into the sewer system
Furthermore, the technology can be used for partial CO₂ capturein simple cogeneration biogas plants, in full compliance with the new FER2 Decree.
